The workshop was delivered as part of a larger multi-location AI capability-building initiative for HG Infra Engineering Limited, designed to help civil engineering professionals integrate AI into day-to-day engineering activities, project execution workflows, and decision-making processes.

The “AI for Civil Engineers” initiative was delivered as a large-scale, region-specific learning intervention across four Indian states through instructor-led practical workshops. The program was conducted across Delhi, Jharkhand, Jaipur, and Andhra Pradesh, with each batch facilitated by a different trainer bringing domain expertise in civil engineering operations, infrastructure projects, and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
The sessions focused extensively on practical implementation rather than theoretical AI concepts. Participants learned how AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and engineering-focused AI platforms can support site reporting, structural safety reviews, BOQ interpretation, construction scheduling, DPR preparation, and engineering communication workflows.
A major focus area of the workshop was prompt engineering for civil engineers — enabling participants to convert vague engineering problems into structured AI-assisted outputs. Multiple hands-on activities were conducted where participants generated site reports, safety checklists, compliance reviews, and project summaries using real engineering and infrastructure scenarios.
The workshop positioned AI not as a replacement for engineering expertise, but as a productivity and decision-support layer capable of improving efficiency, reducing repetitive effort, and accelerating engineering execution.
