Automotive Prototyping: From Engineering Drawing to Part Realisation

Hands-on engineering program connecting engineering drawings and design intent with sheet-metal and plastic-part prototyping, manufacturing processes, inspection, defect analysis and corrective action.

This program helps new joinees and early-career engineers understand the journey from an engineering drawing to prototype or sample realisation. Day 1 focuses on sheet-metal products, covering drawing interpretation, materials, cutting, bending, forming, joining, prototype development, inspection and sheet-metal defects. Day 2 focuses on plastic parts and injection moulding, covering plastic-design rules, material selection, mould structure, process parameters, rapid prototyping, part inspection and moulding defects. Participants work with engineering drawings, real parts, samples, defect photographs and manufacturing cases. Wherever facilities permit, the program includes process demonstrations or prototype/sample creation.
